NEWPORT NEWS Two weeks after hewas shot a year old man has died turning what had been a robbery probe into a murderinvestigation. Harold O. Eley a police spokesman said William Morrison of the block of th Streetwas shot Feb. about p.m. during an attempted robbery in the block of Jefferson Ave. The incident occurredin a courtyard of Harbor Apartments where witnesses said they had seen Morrisonarguing with several men. During the altercation one of the men pulled out a handgunand shots were fired.Morrison was struck several times. He was takento Riverside Regional Medical Center for treatment oflife threatening wounds. Hewas pronounced dead at a.m. this morning. Eley said today that investigators have not identified anysuspects and thatpolice are asking thatanyone with information about the incidentor those involvedcall Crime Line at LOCK U UP .
